Three practical, public-street itineraries linking familiar screen geography without treating working locations as a theme park.
Route A · The desk and the Park
- 126 Aldersgate Street: view the confirmed Slough House frontage from the public pavement.
- St John’s Street and Smithfield: find the separately filmed rear-alley atmosphere; keep entrances clear.
- Barbican Centre: useful sheltered break, accessible toilets and step-free routes.
- Regent’s Canal: continue by public transport, then use the towpath only if conditions suit.
Route B · Smithfield case file
- Start at Farringdon’s step-free Elizabeth line entrance.
- Walk around Smithfield’s public perimeter and the Slough House rear streets.
- Continue to Leather Lane Market; weekday lunch is busiest.
- Finish at Hatton Garden or return from Chancery Lane.
Active market roads and service yards change hour by hour. Cross only at signed points and never block a loading bay for a photograph.
Route C · Step-conscious highlights
Use step-free Farringdon, King’s Cross St Pancras and the broad public realm around Granary Square. Treat these as three separate clusters connected by the Elizabeth/Piccadilly lines or accessible bus options, rather than forcing a long continuous walk.
- Check TfL’s live step-free status immediately before leaving.
- Request National Rail Passenger Assist in advance where useful.
- Bring a companion if variable surfaces or crowds are a concern.
- Accessible toilets are available at major stations and visitor venues, sometimes behind ticket gates.
Visit etiquette
All routes stay on public rights of way. Do not enter private buildings, photograph through windows, fly drones, recreate chases, obstruct residents or imply that a location is an official attraction. Ask before photographing traders and leave immediately if filming or operational work is under way.
